Las Vegas NASCAR Weekend: Travel Tips and Must Do Experiences

In March, Las Vegas hosts one of two NASCAR races. It is in true Vegas-style; high octane and full of adrenaline rushes. We came with our friends who were new to racing and watching them experience the rush NASCAR for the first time was as much fun as the race itself. They are fans now.
Between the roar of the engines, the sunshine over the desert and the evening glamour of the strip this is a great place to come watch a race. This will be an endlessly entertaining weekend.
Thinking of going? Here’s everything you’ll need to know – how to get tickets, where I think you should stay and what you should eat while you’re soaking up the racing action.
How to Get Your NASCAR Las Vegas Tickets and What They Will Cost
- Where to Buy
- Ticket Cost
- General admission starts around $59
- Weekend packages range from $99 – $199, depending on seat location
- Neon Garage Passes (highly recommended)
- Start at around $129 for behind the scenes access to drivers, garages and some live entertainment
- Box Seats
- We chose to try out an elevated experience
Tips
Book early! This race weekend is a popular stop on the NASCAR calendar. It’s easy to get to for the West Coast NASCAR fans.
Consider Getting Scanner Rentals. It is much more immersive when you can listen to your favourite driver’s radio interactions.
When
The NASCAR Cup Series in Las Vegas typically happens the first or second weekend in March. They will be back there in October, 2025. It is a 3 day event with the main race on Sunday.
The weekend includes:
- Truck Series (Friday)
- Xfinity Series (Saturday)
- Cup Series (Sunday)
It’s a full weekend of racing, tailgating and people watching. We went Saturday to catch some qualifying and load up on our merchandise.

Best Things to Eat at the Track
I’m quite obsessed with food from race tracks. For example Talladega had very limited choices but everything was $4.00. Las Vegas had “All The Things”. There were so many options. The prices were not as consistent in Las Vegas but oh my the food was amazing.
My Top Picks from the Las Vegas Motor Speedway:
- Hot Nashville Fried Chicken Sandwich
- Bacon Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
- Hibachi Bowls
- Taco Galore
- Smoked Brisket Sandwiches
- Good Ol’ Hot dogs
- Korean Bulgogi Poutine
- HUGE Chicken Kabobs
- More Smoked Meats
I never expected the food to be this good. And don’t forget there is cold beer, fresh lemonades and fun cocktails.
Where We Stayed: The Fontainebleau Las Vegas
We have stayed here before and this newly opened glam hotel offers:
- Location to Track – it’s on the north end of the strip so it is closer to the track
- Proximity to Shuttles – there is a shuttle you can take which picks up from Circus Circus
- Huge, luxe Rooms with floor to ceiling windows
- Multiple Restaurants – We have eaten at MotherWolf and Washing Potato. Both were really great and had very large serving sizes
- A Massive Pool Deck for chilling out before or after the race – unfortunately it was too cold when we were there to participate.
- Location to Strip – this is just far enough from the chaos of mid-strip that it feels relaxing but still close enough to jump in on the fun at any moment.
Things To Do (Besides the Race)
The list is endless in Las Vegas and it never disappoints. For a full-on weekend experience check out some of the following.
- The Sphere – The high-tech venue is a must see. The Eagles were in residence here when we visited and a show here is unmatched.
- Area 15 – A Weird, wonderful world of immersive art and cocktails. We checked this out and it is super cool but it is also super expensive and weird. I’m glad we checked it out but I won’t be doing a second visit
- Freemont Street Experience – Live music, some old Vegas engery and always the best people watching
- The Neon Museum – Perfect for photos and some classic Vegas history
- Shopping – There’s so much and it is worth setting aside some vacation time for it.
- Cirque du Soleil – There are so many different cirque shows in Vegas. All of them are perfection.
Should You Go to NASCAR Las Vegas
Absolutely, whether you’re a lifelong fan or a complete newbie, Las Vegas is so accessible and one of the most exciting locations for races on the circuit. Pair that with great food, endless entertainment, and a touch of desert sunshine and you’ve got a trip that will hit full throttle.
