“I Got A Text!” How to Throw the Ultimate Love Island Theme Party
Welcome to Casa Amor… in your own living room or maybe backyard. When Ashlin turned 25 there was only one way to celebrate accordingly; with a full on LOVE ISLAND PARTY complete with neon signs, tropical vibes, a faux pool and cocktails that made you want to shout “I Got a Text!” iin a perfect English accent.
Because, Ashlin and her sister-in-law Kate bonded over the show during their University years and continue to quote the show whenever they’re together we created a party that was flirty, fabulous and full of villa drama (minus the heartbreak) in honor of that.
Here’s how we pulled it off -and how you can too

Must Haves – The Party Essentials
The Call to Celebrate – Invitations
We set the tone right away with downloadable digital invites that screamed fun, tropical and a little bit cheeky.
Neon colors, palm leaves and phrases like “Get ready to Crack on” or “Will you be my type on paper?” The invites were bright, modern and playful.

Dress Code – If you’ve decided you’d like a costume or dress code with your celebration the invite is where you let your guests know so they have ample time to prepare. This theme can go wild; you can go glam with bright colored slinky, sexy dresses or you can keep it casual and just ask people to wear bright colors. You know your friends best; and then push the envelope just a little.
Style the Scene – Decor and Ambiance
We went all in on the villa vibes. We really wanted to transform the space. It was mid March when we hosted so there was still snow on the ground outside but inside – a tropical paradise.
Color Scheme – Almost like an 80’s party you are looking for neon pinks, turquoise blues with splashes of yellow and even orange.
Faux Pool Party – A very small plastic ballpit pool gave us the “poolside” aesthetic without needing lots of space or swimsuits. We scattered beach towels and flamingo floats around the room for full summer drama
Confessional Corner – We created a photo op spot just like the interview backdrop on the show with our couch and a tropical backdrop. Put a phone and a tripod for some hilarious video reccaps. It’s perfect for some fun confessional-style videos, TikToks and Instagram captions like “I’m loyal, babes.”
Table scape – Layer, layer layer. This is the trick to a glamourous party theme like this. We set the stage with pink tablecloths, and then layered hot pink napkins, turquoise plates, faux tropical flowers. Pineapples and small Neon signs were used as centerpieces.
Love Themed Accessories – Go through your Valentines box and grab some left over hot pink decor to make this more budget friendly. We used love-themed place cards that were from a Galentine party.
Around the Room – We created a shimmer fringe backdrop for a glam, camera-ready finish. The secret of making this Love Island specific are these glam details along side the tropical theme. We filled the room with blow up palm trees.
Fun Name Tags – Have your Guests create some fun Love Island style nicknames – “Bombshell Becky” or “Muggy Molly”
Foundation of Flavours – Sips and Bites
I consider this to be the blueprint of the party. Feeding your Islanders something extra special is always important. Put everything out on large trays to mimic villa buffet style. Use lots of pineapple wedges, orchid flowers and palm trees as garnish. Tiered serving platter or risers add height and drama to your spread
Sips
Recoupling Rum Punch – a fruity crowd pleaser with rum, pineapple, greandine, and orange juice
Text Alert Tini – Vodka, passionfruit/tropical blend juice, lime and a sugared rim
Crack-On Colada – a pina colada with a splash of blue curacao
Bites
Tropical Charcuterie Board – Fill it with prosciutto wrapped melon, tropical fruits, dried banana chips, pineapple. Of course use your favourite cheese, crackers and some edible flowers.

“Crack On” Tropical Chicken with Coconut Rice and Mango Salsa – This recipe has lots of make ahead options. Your guests arrive, you have a cocktail and then at this point tyou just hrow it together to serve. Garnish with lime wedges, edible flowers and some tropical fruit.

Finishing Touches – Activities & Entertainment
Playlist – Look up some Love Island soundtrack bops, add in some UK pop and a little bit of poolside house tracks.
“Couple Up” Ice Breakers – Some fun games to get the party going.
- Name That Love Island Quote – One Partner reads a Love Island quote, the other has to guess who said it (real or fictional is fine). Bonus points for accents
- Text Alert Challenge – Each pair draws a fake text card with a dare on it. For example:
- You’ve been dumped. Win them back with a 10 second love poem
- New bombshell enters – serenade your partner to keep your place
- Choose a new couple to split with
- Love Island Lingo Match – Match British slang to its meaning. Fastest couple wins.
- Mix – a Mocktail – Each couple gets a box of mystery ingredients and has to create their own Love Island cocktail. Judged by the Host. Equally important; Yyu can change this to cocktail if that suits your group.
- Party Favours – Heart Shaped Sunglasses were placed on each plate; added to the decor as well. The ladies also left with their personalized white champagne flutes and water bottles.
Final Thoughts and Tips For Success
Keep the mood of this party flirty and fun. You’ll be successful with any of your own ideas if you use bright colors, body con and beachy ideas as your inspiration.
Pre-Batched Cocktails – Have your cocktails premade and in jugs for less stress and more vibes.
Decorate Days Before – There was so much decorating to pull off the theme of this party. Do as much as you can 3 days before and then you can focus on the details, the Sips and the Bites.
The real success of this party comes from the fact that it centers around some “good chat” and that’s the crux of any smashing party. This is such a fun and sassy party theme
